Volcanic Eruption in Reykjanes, Iceland

In late 2023, Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula witnessed a significant volcanic eruption. It began on November 12 and intensified by December 19, continuing to the next day. The eruption, marked by orange-hued skies, produced lava fountains reaching up to 330 feet and a volcanic fissure stretching 4 kilometers. The eruption led to the evacuation of Grindavik, situated nearby, due to risks of lava flows and toxic gases.
